Biography

David W. Lentz was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey in 1983. He received his J.D. from Rutgers University Law School in 1983, having previously earned his B.A. from Brandeis University, magna cum laude, in 1974 and his M.A. from Brandeis in 1976. Mr. Lentz began practicing as an associate with Sills Cummis Zuckerman Radin Tischman Epstein & Gross in September 1983. He left Sills Cummis to become a partner at Nagel & Rice in 1987.

Mr. Lentz concentrates his practice in several fields. In the litigation arena, he handles commercial cases including breach of contract, real estate matters, shareholder and corporate control disputes, physician break-ups and employer-employee disputes. He also is an experienced corporate lawyer versed in the full range of corporate legal issues, including the formation of corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and various other entities, as well as the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements and partnership/shareholder agreements. Mr. Lentz also has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases and refinancings.

Mr. Lentz has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Model Civil Jury Charges. He has been selected to be a presenter on behalf of the Ethics Committee of the Essex County Bar Association and has been appointed to the editorial board of The Chronicle, the publication of the Essex County Bar Association. Mr. Lentz has been selected to serve as an arbitrator of various legal disputes in chancery and tort matters.

Mr. Lentz was selected by the United Jewish Federation for the Julius Cohn Outstanding Young Leadership Award in 1992. He was appointed in 1996 by Governor Christine Todd Whitman to serve on the New Jersey Israel Commission. Mr. Lentz serves on the Executive Committee for the United Jewish Federation.
